2026 SOUTHEASTERN REGIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

Conference Background-2.png

Z-Hope Project

The 2026 Southeastern Region Z-HOPE Community Initiative offers an opportunity to lean into the Extraordinary Power of S.H.E. by supporting a very deserving Columbia agency in their efforts to combat inequities around social, health, and economic justice in the Columbia, South Carolina area. Chapters, Auxiliaries, and individuals donate leading up to the conference and can continue to give years to come through monetary resources or volunteering their time.

Killingsworth is a home for women and a unique community residence for women who are emerging from crisis situations. Within the eight-bedroom home, women recovering from alcohol and/or drug abuse, incarceration, mental and emotional problems, violence and assault, or family crisis situations can find shelter and support.  The residential program includes room, board, guidance and support. Financial and vocational assistance to the residents is often available from partner agencies in the community.

Impact of Philanthropy

Each resident is required to be involved in some organized productive activity during her stay. For most residents that means employment.  Training or educational programs which lead to employment are equally acceptable. This requirement is basic to each woman’s steps toward self-sufficiency and return to community life.

Their Mission

The mission of Killingsworth is to support, to empower, and advocate for women recovering from various life crises within a safe, nurturing, Christian environment.

Their Vision

“We do not “do” programs which are subject to startups and endings; we are program.”

Their Answer to the Community

The Killingsworth Program recognizes interdependent components: Personal, Social and Spiritual. Personal development includes: recovery habits, mental and physical health habits, employment, and identity. Well-rested, well-fed healthy people make better decisions, are better parents, better workers, get promotions, do well in classes they take, and relate to others better.
