Legacy Club

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who qualifies as a Legacy for the Legacy Club? 

Membership is only open to Sorors who are related to other Sorors. Relationships include: mother, grandmother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, or cousin-including legally adopted and step family members. ONLY Sorors that are financial in the Southeastern Region can apply for this club.

2. Does each Legacy applicant need to submit their own application? 

Yes, each Soror applying for membership into the club needs to complete their own application along with paying membership fee for each Soror applying for the club. 

​

3. Do both family members need to be present at the 2025 Southeastern Regional Leadership Conference to participate in the Legacy Ceremony? 

No, both family members do not have to be present at the ceremony; only the Soror that is being inducted. Sorors MUST be registered for the conference in order to be inducted. 

​

4. If I was previously inducted into the Legacy Club, do I need to apply again? 

No, if you have already previously joined the Regional Legacy Club you are not required to join again. 

​

5. What is the deadline to apply for the Legacy Club Induction Ceremony?

The deadline to apply for the Legacy Club is the same deadline as the conference registration. 

​

6. Will there be any additional Legacy events during the conference? 

Yes, this year there will be a Legacy Tree display that will highlight the Legacies of the Southeastern Region. Legacies that are members of the Regional Legacy Club will be able to submit pictures and short highlights of their family. More detailed instructions will be available at a later date. 

​

7. Is there a dress code for the Legacy Pinning Ceremony? 

Yes, Sorors will need to wear uninterrupted white for the pinning ceremony.

 

8. Can undergraduate Sorors apply for the Legacy Club?. 

Yes, undergraduate Sorors are able to apply for the Regional Legacy Club as long as they have a Legacy Connection.

9. Can I apply if my relative is a deceased Soror? 

Yes, Sorors may apply for the Legacy Club even if their Legacy is deceased or inactive.

 

10. What if my relative and I are in different chapters or states—does that affect my eligibility? 

No, a Legacy being in another Chapter or State does not affect you joining the Legacy Club but only the Soror who is in the Southeastern Region may join the Legacy Club.

11. Will there be photos or video of the ceremony? 

No official photos will be provided of the ceremony by the committee, unless taken by the official conference photographer. You may ask a Soror in the audience to take pictures of you during the ceremony without taking a picture of the ceremony table. 

​

12. What do I need to bring with me for the Legacy Ceremony? 

Sorors do not have to bring any materials with them for the ceremony. Everything will be issued after the ceremony. 

​

13. Can a Soror be recognized in more than one Legacy relationship (e.g., daughter and granddaughter)? 

When completing the Legacy Club application, Sorors will have the option to select two Legacy Connections. 

​

14. Will I receive a keepsake or certificate? 

Sorors who join the Legacy Club will receive a lapel pin, t-shirt and certificate. 

​

15. Is there a cost to join the Legacy Club or participate in the ceremony? 

Yes, the application fee to join the Legacy Club is $45. Sorors must be registered for the Regional Conference in order to apply for the club. Sorors names will be cross-referenced with conference attendees. 

​

16. Will refunds be given for the Legacy Club? 

Yes, refunds will be issued by the same guidelines as conference registration as items have to be ordered. 

​

17. If I am not able to attend the ceremony, what will happen with my induction items? 

If Sorors know in advance that they will not be able to attend the ceremony, they should send a written communication to the Legacy Coordinator, seregionlegacycoordinator@gmail.com, requesting that a designated Soror pickup the items. Include in the email: your name and Soror picking up items along with chapter name, city and state along with a phone number. No legacy induction items will be mailed.

18. What happens if I miss the deadline for submitting the Legacy Club application? 

Unfortunately, if a Soror misses the deadline for submitting an application, they will need to until the following year’s regional conference. Flexibility may be provided for extenuating circumstances. The Legacy Coordinator should be contacted immediately, seregionlegacycoordinator@gmail.com. Even if the application can be submitted, all items may not be provided after the ceremony.

19. How can I get involved with helping to plan or enhance the Legacy Club experience? 

Any Soror interested in being involved in the enhancement of the Legacy Club should directly contact their prospective State Legacy Coordinator.
